Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Rapid City

I specifically stayed here on a vacation for the waterpark. My kids had an absolute blast! Yes, it was very busy but, overall, an enjoyable experience. The breakfast was the usual fare found in hotels these days. The turkey sausage was nasty. And my kids were disappointed there were no pancakes or waffles. Otherwise, it was fine. The outdoor sitting area was perfect because the hotel was sold out and the indoor seating was filled. The water bottle fill station was a pleasant surprise. The staff were friendly and relatively helpful. They were out of roll-aways but suggested Target for an inflatable mattress. I would stay here again.

Made reservations two months prior to stay. Found out at time of arrival Watiki was closing early due to “private event” without prior notification. Rooms were good. Mostly clean - found a small screwdriver on the floor. Do not recommend the breakfast. Grabbed some bread for toast and found the bread hard like it was left out/exposed for some period of time. Tried an English muffin, same thing.

This hotel was genuinely one of the best Fairfield brand experiences we've had, it truly shines with its modern feel and excellent upkeep. The receptionists were nice and welcoming, making us feel right at home. A special shout-out to CKU at the front desk – her willingness to answer all our questions and resolve any issues was outstanding. The rooms themselves were comfortable and thoughtfully designed. We particularly appreciated the low beds, which contributed to a comfortable night's sleep. A huge, unexpected bonus (which we didn't realize when booking!) was that the hotel is directly connected to the WaTiki Waterpark, and admission is included with your stay! This was an absolute highlight for our kids – the waterpark is fantastic and provided hours of fun, a definite game-changer for a family trip. However, be aware that this amazing amenity also means the hotel can get extremely busy. On our first day, a weekend, the lobby and breakfast area were packed. There was a significant line for breakfast, though we noticed it was much less busy on weekdays. The breakfast itself is the standard Fairfield Inn menu – what you'd expect, though notably, no waffles were available during our visit. Due to the high volume of guests, staff were constantly restocking items, which sometimes led to a wait. One important detail to note is the parking charge of $9.68 per day. Even though it's an open parking lot and surrounded by multiple hotels, this fee is applied. It's something to factor into your budget. All in all, despite the busyness at peak times and the parking fee, we would highly recommend the Fairfield Inn & Suites Rapid City, especially for families with kids. The quality of the hotel combined with the included waterpark access makes it an incredibly enjoyable and valuable stay.

We had a very nice stay at the Fairfield by Marriott in Rapid City. The hotel was spotless and well-maintained, and our room was comfortable. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, friendly, and helpful — definitely a 5-star experience for the service team! A couple of small things kept this from being a full 5-star stay. Our room only had one coffee cup instead of two (every other Marriott we’ve visited has had at least two), and breakfast was on the limited side for hot options — just eggs and bacon besides coffee. The English muffin was fine, but I’d love to see real Philadelphia cream cheese instead of the current brand. Overall, this is a clean, comfortable, and well-run property, and with a few small tweaks it could be perfect. Solid 4 stars overall and 5 stars for the service!

I did not do my research before staying here but news near the airport. It caught me off guard there being a water park sticking out of the building but will be taking my son when he gets old enough to this hotel. In-house water park historic places to visit within an hour. The exit to get to the hotel is a little weird I missed it twice being really tired. The staff was friendly I was thinking about creating our very own handshake but decided it was better just to sleep to which I did peacefully in a clean room.

They had a good hot breakfast. Watiki tickets were included with the room. Room was clean and nice mattresses were older but still comfortable.

It takes a lot for me to write a review but this is one that I couldn't let go. Currently in the middle of our stay, but definitely need to draw attention to the morning breakfast service. We travel frequently and stay in different places quite often. Rarely have we stayed in a Fairfield Inn that didn't offer an excellent breakfast setting. However this one definitely fell short. Eggs and sausage were barely warm. Literally had to warm them in the microwave. Breakfast bar was not in a favorable order as far as convenience. Juice bar was located in the corner between the plates and plastic ware and the main course. Very limited selection of options for breads or muffins or pastries. Breakfast service personnel seemed a little bit grumpy about being there in the first place. No smiles or pleasantries in passing. Almost like it was an inconvenience to have that shift. I realize everyone has good/bad days, but this is a high profile, highly visible position and requires pleasantness and interactions with guests. Housekeeping was very pleasant and professional despite the small language barrier that was overcome with help from Google translate. Front desk at check-in was very pleasant and helpful. Nightshift clerk seemed a bit annoyed about having to make a sale from the "store". I will probably update this review after we complete our stay.

Every Fairfield by Marriott that I stayed at & the 1st one was Las Vegas, NV, 2nd one was in St. George, Utah & the 3rd one was in Rapid City, South Dakota were all outstanding. The features of each one allowed you to feel at home. Their breakfast buffet was scrumptious. They have a full blown gym & indoor pool. The people were so friendly & whatever you may need they took care of it!! Thankyou for the opportunity to share!!
